F is for fun...We had some fun this week learning about Japan and making some fabulous Japanese fans.
F is for FRUSTRATION ON FORTIETH... I know, I know, I know...we had fair warning, but of course I was running five or six minutes late this morning, and the traffic was backing up for left turns off Barry, and I thought, I've been going around by New Holland all week and 40th has been open the whole time, I'll just go down Chicago Dr. this morning. Wouldn't you know this is the morning that they finally close down 40th. So, of course I had to find my way all the way around the block to New Holland, but, oh no, I didn't figure out that I could just to go to New Holland and Chicago Dr...I went back to 36th...and of course I wasn't the only one. Long story longer, once I finagled my way to school, I walked in with the kids this morning. Not a fabulous way to start a Friday.
So, when we finally sat down to get started, I whined to the kids about it and I found out I wasn't the only forgetful one. I asked them how many of your moms and dads got almost to school and found out the road was closed. There were a few hands up. One little boy from one of my finest families even said, "My dad took the shortcut!" "Shortcut? What shortcut?" I asked. "Oh, he went over the grass..." Hmmm...never thought about that!
So, after complaining about my frustrating start this morning, we read our ABC Devotional book at noon today. Of course, I read the devotional for D~Do all things with out murmuring and disputing...Phil 2:14...Hmmm...so no more fussing about that. Maybe I need to be a bit more forgiving...
