Isaiah 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. The decision for a snow day is always a tough call. For us, the decision is made somewhat easier because we go along with the Hudsonville Public Schools. This takes care of the problems with busing. But, when it comes to a school event, especially one that the whole school is involved in and has practiced for and is looking forward to, it is a much harder call. The call to postpone the All-School Program was a tough one for our administrator and the board members involved. But for the safety of the hundreds (thousands?) of people that are involved, it was a necessary call. The call was a bittersweet one for me. Glad I don't have to drive, but wish we could still have the program. The announcement brought on tears in the kindergarten room. One little boy, fighting back tears, said, "But I don't see why we can't have the program. It's not like we're singing outside." After explaining that the roads are very slippery and that it isn't safe to be on them, he understood that for the good of all involved, this was a good decision. I hope we can all understand. |
